Roaster Collaboration #44 - Bow & Tie

Roaster Collaboration #44 - Bow & Tie
Bow & Tie are an Auckland-based artisan roastery who roast daily in small batches on a classic Diedrich IR3.

In their micro-roastery they roast and serve up brews for the local community and any coffee lovers who head to Bow & Tie's neck of the woods for a good cup of joe! They have an array of single origins and blends on offer that they distribute NZ wide or sell locally, from the roastery.

Motivated by the thought of a mobile specialty coffee service brewing small-batch boutique beans, Gus and Davinia came up with idea of creating a coffee bike, which runs and brews on renewable energies without the environmental impact of other mobile coffee trucks. So in 2016, Gus got his tools out and handmade most of the barista bike, which nowadays cycles in to events and private functions and brews with that special extra touch.
After Gus worked with the bike outside for 2 years in rain, wind or shine it was time for a roof over his head, so again the tools came out and the micro roastery appeared in a small part of the neighbouring shop's warehouse, which is where the magic happens today.

Now for what you'll be drinking - this month's featured beans are "The Bike, Signature Blend". Finely blended with beans from Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala and Ethiopia. Tasting notes are caramel and berries with floral notes, medium body. Rounded and smooth.

Besides pumping this beauty out on our Fracino Lever machine, we also love this blend brewed on V60 or plunger and use it for our Nitro Cold Brew in the roastery.
