It’s a passion as much as a business for Pete and Serena who run The Roastery Espresso Bar in Sheffield Street, Paraparaumu. They are dedicated to providing the best coffee experience for their customers. Pete’s coffee roasting journey started in 2010 with a popcorn machine and a Quest M3 before upgrading to a 5kg Probat in 2016, setting up in a converted warehouse. As well as roasting coffee for his own customers, he provided independent roasters access to world class equipment to start their own coffee brands. A 12kg Probat has since been added. Serena started as a customer with a much loved La Pavoni lever machine and then created her own brand using Pete’s equipment and sold her coffee at the local market.
