Since 2015, the roastery has been dedicated to delivering a coffee experience that goes beyond the ordinary. What began with our first roasts on a small 1kg coffee roaster quickly grew, and the roastery later expanded to a 10kg roaster to continue producing high-quality, small-batch coffee. Originally operating as Neighbourhood Coffee Roasters, the business built a strong reputation for carefully sourced, thoughtfully roasted coffee.
In 2021, my partner and I proudly took over the roastery, where I had already spent years working and learning the craft. When we stepped into ownership, we honoured what had been built while rebranding to Martinborough Coffee Company, allowing the business to grow into what it is today. Since then, we’ve welcomed two little “beans” of our own and are embracing the balance of family life and running a roastery — with our boys now growing up around coffee, learning, helping, and sharing in the journey. For us, Martinborough Coffee Company is more than just coffee; it’s a family story rooted in passion, community, and a love for the craft.

Pinot Noir Barrel-Aged Coffee
This month you are savouring their Pinot Noir barrel-aged coffee. You may well know that green coffee beans are porous and therefore excel at absorbing nearby aromas. At Martinborough Coffee Company they have been experimenting with ageing green coffee beans in used award-winning Big Sky Pinot Noir barrels.
Big Sky produces organic Wine and believe in the philosophy of making their best wine, not the most. This partnership aims to infuse the chocolatey coffee flavours with subtle hints of poignant fruit notes, creating a coffee packed with flavour.
