Welcome to 2022! To kick us off we’ve partnered with Malatto Coffee and their delicious Ethiopian Sidamo.
Malatto Coffee was started in Wellington by Rose Kuru and Lucas Sena and exists to celebrate coffees from Colombia, Panama and Peru. Lucas grew up in Colombia and knows that there are lots of farms that produce quality coffee that isn’t exported to the rest of the world as a result of economic and social limitations. To overcome this, Malatto continuously import green beans from different farms in Colombia in search of the best beans and learning from the experiences of farmers.
This month we’re trying their single origin Sidamo from Ethiopia. It’s a light-medium brew that is well-balanced with round acidity, syrupy mouthfeel and a chocolaty long finish. When we taste it, we get sugar plum, roasted nuts, citrus zest, and maple syrup. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
